The family lived at Buenos Aires until she was six years old, and then moved to the Victoria area of London. According to Taylor-Joy, this relocation was difficult and she was unable to study English to the hope of returning to Argentina. Hill House became her school preference after she was forced to change schools. She enrolled later at Queen's Gate School in which she studied Ballet and participated in school productions. When she dropped out of school at the age of 16 she pursued an acting career. The dream of Taylor-Joy to become a professional actress began at a very young age.
